Inland Northwest Musicians 2007- 2008 Concert Season
|
|
Founded in 1999, Inland Northwest Musicians continues to offer fine orchestral and choral music and education opportunities to Eastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington. We believe that music is a joy to be shared by all people from all walks of life in all towns, big and small. Driven by that core value Inland Northwest Musicians ensembles have performed concerts in a vast array of communities in our region. We understand that love of great music is everywhere, and we desire to bring the gift of the world’s best music to even the most remote locations in our service area. Inland Northwest Musicians is a comprehensive program encompassing five performing ensembles. The Inland Northwest Orchestra and Inland Northwest Chorale, our premier ensembles, include musicians from throughout our region. These groups rehearse in Pendleton. The Willow Creek Symphony and Willow Creek Singers are our youth/preparatory ensembles, rehearsing in Heppner and the Wallowa Valley Orchestra rehearsing in Wallowa. All five Inland Northwest Musicians ensembles perform an exciting season of concerts each year throughout our service area. These dedicated volunteers drive vast distances and donate their time, energy, and talent out of love of music and strong support of the Inland Northwest Musicians mission. New member musicians are always welcome. Inland Northwest Musicians provides much more than just concerts. We offer a mentoring program called Dinner Music, an innovative approach to nurturing young musicians. Participants come and spend an evening with an assigned mentor from one of our ensembles, having dinner with their mentor, then participating in an actual rehearsal, seated next to their mentor. Dinner Music evenings have served to inspire young musicians to start or continue their music studies, realizing that music can be a satisfying lifetime pursuit. In addition to the Dinner Music program, Inland Northwest Musicians provides community presentations, recital offerings, and school visits. If you would like to know more about any of these services, just give us a call. |
